Blade Runner 2049 - Los Angeles Sea Wall

Early in 2015 we were tasked with helping to conceptualise the look and feel of Los Angeles for Blade Runner 2049. Set 30 years on from the first film, the city is now blanketed in a layer of thick smog, constant rain, and snow due to extreme pollution. Rising sea levels force L.A. to reinforce its ocean borders with a gigantic sea wall. This design explored a thick sea fog that would roll over the wall like a slow-motion wave engulfing the city below.
